New York Red Bulls & Sports Illustrated Tickets announce “Sports Illustrated stadium in a historic 13 year partnership. Previously known as Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. Sports Illustrated Stadium will continue to be the home of MLS team New York Red Bulls and NWSL team Gotham FC.
“Seeing Sports Illustrated Stadium for the first time is truly an historic and awe-inspiring moment,” said David Lane, CEO of Sports Illustrated Tickets. "For seven decades, Sports Illustrated has represented the best in sports and culture. Through this global partnership and iconic venue, we aim to showcase our vast portfolio of media, live event ticketing, hospitality and fan experiences as we continue to partner with leagues, teams, artists and venues around the world. Sports Illustrated Stadium is much more than just a venue – it’s a celebration of history, innovation and the unforgettable experiences that unite us all.” - Sports Illustrated Stadium Communications
Sports Illustrated Tickets is looking to renovate not only the stadium name but also take over the ticketing services for all events held at the stadium.
“This marks the first stadium naming rights partnership in Sports Illustrated’s 70-year history and will serve as a showcase for this storied, iconic brand, which aims to set a new standard for fan engagement through blockchain ticketing – improving the fan experience and helping to grow the Red Bulls fan base in an authentic way that only Sports Illustrated can.” - NewYorkRedBulls Communications
La galaxy far far away without riqui puig
LA Galaxy Midfielder Riqui Puig
LA Galaxy are in a whole different Galaxy Far Far away without Riqui Puig. Fortunately for LA Galaxy, they have a deep roster of star players.
Most recently, LA Galaxy Midfielder Riqui Puig was named to MLS Best Xl for 2024. It’s no surprise Riqui was named to the best XI, given that many argue he was a potential MVP of the league.
Riqui was also in the 2024 & 2023 MLS All star squad and appeared in multiple player of the week XI during the 2024 season.
Unfortunately for LA Galaxy fans and most importantly for Riqui, he will miss the 2024 MLS Cup Final. He was seen limping and crying post match versus Seattle in the Western Conference Finals. Instantly media outlets reported the star player was injured and would miss MLS Cup.
At a later time, LA Galaxy released a Press Conference Stating Riqui had torn his ACL in the Western Conference Final versus Seattle Sounders FC. Riqui appeared to have played over 30 minutes with his injury and even contributing to the game winning Goal.
The LA Galaxy star was one game away from making history with LA Galaxy. In my opinion the LA Galaxy would not be in this MLS Cup Final without Riqui Puig.
Stats Report by LA Galaxy
“37 goal contributions (17 goals, 20 assists) in 36 matches played (34 starts) across all competitions for the LA Galaxy during the 2024 campaign. In four matches played (4 starts) during the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs, Puig notched four goals and four assists. The Matadepera, Spain, native finished the 2024 MLS Regular Season with 16 goals and 14 assists in 29 matches played (28 starts).” - LA Galaxy Press Release
