San Diego FC officially started their Pre-Season versus MLS competition at the Coachella Valley Invitational.
In San Diego’s first match, SDFC fell 3-1 to New York City FC. This was SDFC’s supporters first chance to see the expansion team play with all their star players. Post-Match, fans lined up in bunches to get autographs from Hirving Lozano and the rest of the team.
San Diego FC suffered another Loss at CVI for their second Pre-Season Match versus Portland timbers 3-0. San Diego FC began to feel the pressure and gave new players Hirving “Chucky” Lozano & DP Anders Dreyers a taste of MLS competition.
At SDFC’s third game at CVI, they finished their Pre-Season tournament with a 6-0 win against the 2024 Eastern Conference Champions the New York Red Bulls.

With Pre-season officially over for all MLS Clubs at CVI, SDFC look to their next major task, facing off versus the 2024 MLS Cup Champions the LA Galaxy Sunday Feb 23, 2025 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
